Instructions for the Presentation

All presentations (except for invited keynote presentations) at the 3rd Global Workshop on Digital Soil Mapping (DSM 2008) are allowed a maximum of 10-minutes. Please prepare your presentation in English using Powerpoint. At the end of each session of presentations, the discussant will lead a discussion of all papers presented. A rapporteur will record the key points raised in the discussion and report these in the final discussion near the end of the workshop.

Instructions for the Paper

Each presentation is requested to be developed into a full paper in English for submission as an attached Word document sent to Janis.Boettinger@usu.edu or uploaded here by 8 September 2008. Download a template for papers here (.doc file) or download pdf version.

The paper must have a title of ≤15 words, and list the names, affiliations/institutions, addresses, and e-mail addresses of all authors. The abstract should be a concise summary of no more than 250 words. The text of the paper, excluding the abstract and including reference list should be ≤2500 words. Use Times Roman 12 pt. font throughout the paper. A maximum of 10 references may be cited. The margins must be 1 inch (2.5 cm) at top, bottom, left, and right. Each paper is allowed up to six (6) total figures plus tables.

All DSM 2008 participants will receive a hard copy of the 350-word abstracts and a CD of the full papers with their registration materials. Interested presenters can submit their full papers for consideration for publication in a book similar to the books published following DSM 2004 (Digital Soil Mapping: An Introductory Perspective) and DSM 2006 (Digital Soil Mapping with Limited Data).

All presenters must be registered for the workshop.
